Om Vararangaanukampaattha Draavidaamnaaya Tattvanidhiye Namaha
“Salutations to the one who is the storehouse of wisdom of the Dravida Veda got by the grace of Sri Vara ranga.”
Vara
Ranga is Tiruvarangath-Araiyar Swamy. ‘Vararanga anukampa’ is the grace
of Vararanga. 'anukampaattha' means "got by the grace" - ‘Amnaya’ means
Veda. Dravida-amnaya is Dravida Veda. ‘Dravida-amnaya-tattva’ is the
wisdom of Dravida Veda. ‘nidhi’ means the Storehouse.
Sri
Ramanuja became the storehouse of the wisdom of Dravida Veda after he
learnt the essence and the essentials of Nalayira Divya Prabandham at
the feet of his Acharya Sri Tiruvarangath-Araiyar Swamy. It is to the
credit of Sri Ramanuja that he harmonised the teachings of Dravida Veda
with the import of Samskrita Veda. Srivaishnava Acharyas are known as
the Ubhayavedanta Pravartaka Acharyas. Blending of Samskrita Veda and
Dravida Veda is like bringing the head and the heart together. It was
Sri Ramanuja who effected this blend effectively so as to reinforce
both.
