Every single person on the earth has a story .Don't judge people before you truly know them the truth might surprise you.

Beauty of life depends upon how you manage your free or busy time.

India has Talent

India has Talent .. but lack Direction... what comes Overnight also Goes Over Night... Success comes to Karma Yogi's, who submit their Work to God and not to seek pleasure out of it.

Am waiting for India to Change.

~ John F. Kennedy

When written in Chinese, the word "crisis" is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.

"Desires are silken threads of material pleasures which the spider of habit continuously spins around the soul to form the shrouding cocoon of ignorance. The soul must manage to cut through this stifling cocoon of ignorance to reemerge as the butterfly of Omnipresence.

10 RULES OF GYM ETIQUETTE YOU MUST FOLLOW

Have you ever found equipment covered with the previous person's sweat? Disgusting, isn't it?

It is very important to identify and value the etiquette of gym behavior to make it easy and enjoyable not just for you but for the others as well. In case you need to brush up on your gym etiquette, here are the pointers:

1. ALWAYS CARRY A TOWEL WITH YOU WHILE YOU'RE TRAINING
Carry a towel to separate your body from the machine while you use it. Wipe off any bench or machine after you’re done with them. Wipe off sweat from your forehead, forearms, neck or anywhere else it tends to collect.

2. DON'T OFFER YOUR ADVICE TO OTHERS
You might have a Ph.D. in physical training from Harvard with specialized experience with the national Olympic team, but no one cares. Keep in mind that you may not be the most knowledgeable person in the room. If you feel compelled to critique someone's training method, do so in a constructive manner, being polite and acknowledging what they're doing right first.

3. DON'T USE CELL PHONE AT THE GYM AND DISTRACT OTHERS
There’s nothing more distracting than someone yammering away on his cell phone when you’re in the middle of a set. Unless you're waiting for an important call, it's recommended that you turn off your mobile phone at the gym. Keep the cell phones in your locker. Your fellow gym-goers and your waistline - will thank you.

4. PUT WEIGHTS BACK WHERE THEY BELONG
Whenever you use dumbbells or plates, be considerate enough to put them back where they belong when you're done. The other gym members are here to train, not to participate in a scavenger hunt.

5. DON'T MISUSE MIRRORS
I can't tell you how many times I've seen people pop pimples or fix their hair in the mirrors. Club mirrors are for monitoring your form and technique. Don't groom yourself on the gym floor.

6. DON'T FORGET TO USE DEODORANT
There’s nothing worse than sucking in deep breaths between sets, only to have someone’s bad B.O. creep up and smack you in the face. Exercising makes you sweat and perspiration causes body odor. Arm yourself with an effective deodorant and use it adequately.

7. DON'T WEAR INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHES
Avoid wearing ‘nightdress’ type cotton clothes, which are not suitable for the gym. We go to the gym for a reason: to get better, bigger, stronger, faster. It’s important to wear workout clothes that will facilitate different types of exercise. Relaxed ‘dry fit’ t-shirts work great. Comfort-fitting athletic shorts or track pants make it easy to do any sort of exercise, whether it is running, stretching or weight training.

8. DON'T WEAR DIRTY SHOES INTO THE GYM
There is a place to change your shoes as soon as you enter the gym, as well as a doormat to wipe your feet. Please do so. Make sure you are not wearing dirty pair of shoes on the gym floor which you wear in your day-to-day life.

9. DON'T HIT ON EVERY BABE
Try to avoid staring at those beautiful women in the gym. They know they're hot and they don't need your ogling them to figure it out. Gawking at someone can make them uncomfortable.

10. DON'T TREAT THE CHANGING ROOM LIKE YOUR OWN BATHROOM
Even more so than the weight room, the changing room is the place where your true colors emerge. Don't take a marathon shower if people are waiting. Put your used towels in the laundry basket. Make sure that you remove all your shower supplies and that little pile of your hair from the drain.

Treadmill Hahaha hohohoho

A runner from Mumbai tweeted this and thought I'd share this on the blog. Loved the "We eat whatever we want" bit. The best line however is "We openly mock treadmills". Whenever I see someone walking / running on the treadmill, the title of this post is what I hear in my mind. The most boring activity for me is running or walking in the same place staring at the wall / mirror / glass and of-course the treadmill next to you not to forget A/C in full blast. Seriously , don't people get bored running at the same place?

A Good Read

After several months, today I finished reading a very interesting book called ‘Outliers’ by Malcolm Gladwell. This is a very interesting book on how to better in life and the reason behind success of an individual. This will definitely help me in guiding my kids and shaping them as well. The crux of the book is- circumstances, upbringing, surrounding, sect the person belongs to matters a lot in the success of an individual.

The book begins with the roseto mystery. The author describes, how a community of people came from Italy to setup a town in America. And in that particular place the percentage of death by cardiac attacks were more, which was not anywhere else in America. And the reason for this was found that they followed the same lifestyle that they had in Italy. Then the author says about a new theory called the Mathew effect, it talks about advantage of age cut-offs for school admission. He shows the example of the ice hockey leagues in Canada, football leagues in Europe where the cut off age forms an advantage. So, the date of birth helps some. To prove the phrase ‘Practice makes a person perfect’ the author says that to achieve something great an individual needs 10000 hrs of practice.

Being Genius is good, but after a certain level on the IQ score, there is not much difference. Right parental guidance and good upbringing also matters a lot.

The book also deals with great men and the secret of their success.

After reading this book, I was very sure about one thing. Nothing comes free in life. Hard work is the result of an individual’s success.
Overall, It was an interesting read for me and it makes me think how to use this for me

What are the Vedas?

: The Sanskrit verbal root of veda can be interpreted variously, but the purport is finally one. Veda means knowledge. Any knowledge you accept is veda, for the teachings of the Vedas are the original knowledge. In the conditioned state, our knowledge is subjected to many deficiencies. The difference between a conditioned soul and a liberated soul is that the conditioned soul has four kinds of defects-

1- Tendency to commit mistakes

2- Tendency to be illusioned

3- Tendency to cheat others

4- Imperfect senses

Vedas are directly coming from the Supreme Lord Vishnu / Krishna

PROOF – ‘tene brahma hrdaye adi kavaye’ – Vedas were first imparted to Lord Brahma by the medium of heart by Krishna.

HOW TO EAT FRUITS? 🍏🍇🍒🌽🍑🍌🍍🍐🍋

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think.
It's important to know how and when to eat.
DON'T EAT FRUIT AFTER MEALS!

FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

It will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

Eat fruit on an empty stomach or before meals! People complain, "Every time I eat watermelon I burp; when I eat apples, my stomach bloats up; when I eat a banana🍌 I feel like running to the toilet, etc ” This will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas, hence you will bloat!

Grey hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under eyes will NOT happen by taking fruit on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon 🍋are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. Master the correct way of eating fruits, and you will have beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

Drink only fresh fruit juice,🍹 NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

Eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: 🍈A good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: .. have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessening the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. A key source of lycopene the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: 🍈 for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after meals = Cancer!

It will solidify the oily stuff you have just consumed and slow down digestion... Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. This will turn into fats and lead to cancer. Better to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': Not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of pain in the jaw line. You may never have chest pain during a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are common symptoms. Sixty percent who have an attack while asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can awaken you.

A cardiologist says if everyone sends this message to 10 people, you can be sure it'll save at least one life.

~ Virender Sehwag ~

“I was a cricketer while the other kids in the family would get 80 to 90 per cent marks. My academic record was keenly followed by everyone at home. Class X board results time, At least 50 of my family members were waiting for me. They wanted me to fail so that they could all laugh at me, “Sadly for them, I had passed. I threw the marksheet at them and said, ‘Anybody who wishes (to cross-check) can take a look at This.

// Nammalvar \\

Gouache painting on paper from a portfolio of sixty-three paintings of deities and daily life. Nammalvar sits in lalitasana on a low asana placed on a platform. His complexion is blue, he wears a headdress, the chayakkontai, and Tengalai namams (emblems) are drawn on his forehead throat, arms and stomach. His jewellery is made of rudraksha beads. His right hand is in the teaching gesture and in his left he holds a palm leaf manuscript. Two Brahmins flank the image of the Alvar (south Indian poet saint). The one on his right writes with a long stylus on a palm leaf, the one to his left is in teaching attitude. At the bottom of the page, immediately opposite Nammalvar, is an image of Ramanuja, set off by a green background and surrounded by a metal frame. The philosopher, dressed in a russet dhoti and wearing a cylindrical cap, sits in virasana with his hands folded in anjali mudra and his typical banner resting on his right shoulder.

Curator's comments - Dallapiccola 2010:
Shown in the background is a tamarind tree, suggesting that the painting refers to the Adinathasvami temple at Alvar Tirunagari (Tirunelveli), birthplace of Nammalvar, where the tamarind tree is still the focus of worship.
